Coolant Temp Sensor

ive been having trouble for a couple months now with starting issues ill start it, cranks fine but it will immediately die and i have to keep restarting it. i ran a scanner on it and its pulling the coolant temp switch code.

so im guessing its unplugged and its saying my engines at like -20 and its making it run lean

now the problem is i cant find the sensor i was told that it had a 3 pronged connector that plugged into it. in the hanes repair manual it only shows it on tpi and carb models i have the 305 tbi.

if someone could help me out that be greatly appreciated, im so frustrated with it.

It is a 2 wire unit that is into the coolant somewhere
Either in intake like on TPI shown below ( most likely ) ,or into the heads.TBI uses same type sensor

A socket directly over those things, I think 19mm right? Breaks the plastic top off it...
My CTS was on my intake next to my thermostat housing. I have a carb setup though.

Re: Coolant Temp Sensor

On a TBI, the CTS, the temp sensor for the computer is right in front of the thermostat housing on the front of the intake. It has a plug with yellow and black wires going to it and looks just like the one vetteoz circled in his pic above.
