Is my dipping idle simply due to the ECM running me a bit lean?
I recently removed my emissions stuff and I read here that on TBI engines the ECM will make the car run a bit lean after doing that, and that running lean will cause an intermittent dip in rpms during idle.
When I switch my fan on, the base idle drops a bit, and it's just enough that the dips will drop it low enough to almost die (it actually will die occasionally).
NOTES:
I just adjusted all my rockers (while running, 1\2 turn on all of them) and it didn't help.
I just installed a brand new battery (yellow top) and a new rebuilt alternator.
I just removed all of my emissions and A\C stuff. (including straight-piped cat)
So, any ideas? Is it just the ECM being a brat? If so, is there a way to compensate without a new chip? I'm converting to carb in about a month, so no biggy. Thanks for any help.
