Oil Pressure Switch Question
Oil Pressure Switch Question
I have the bell shaped oil pressure switch which
screws on top by the oil filter. My question is I can't seem to find the "adapter" so I can screw into the block and then the bell shaped oil pressure switch onto the top of it. I am looking for some guidance. Has anyone make one of these? If you did what what parts did you use? Threads, sizes etc. Any help will be great. Thanks

Re: Oil Pressure Switch Question
Are you trying to put it on top of the china wall by the distributor instead? I think I used standard NPT fitting from local hardware store.
Re: Oil Pressure Switch Question
No mine is a 1989 350. I have the one by the distributor as well as the one with the one ontop of the oil filter or by it. When I rebuilt my motor I don't know where it went. Its kinda like an L-shaped fitting. I can't just screw in the switch becuase it wont fit without the adapter.

Re: Oil Pressure Switch Question
The standard brass NPT fittings at local hardware store should do it for you, it's what I used. When I installed my 350, the oil filter location was plugged, and I couldn't get the plug out, so I used an elbow and size adapter and put mine on the china wall.
You should only need one sender. There were several. My 1992 originally had only one - the 3 wire sender - it was by the oil filter. 1 wire is for the guage, the other two larger ones are for the fuel pump. When I swapped motors and went to carb, I seperated the 3 wires - ran the sender wire to an older style guage sender that like I said I had to install in the china wall. The fuel pump wires I ran to a relay on the firewall with a hot-in-run to operate my fuel pump when key is on (since I eliminated the ECM control of the fuel pump).
Some had both - the one fed the guage (china wall location) and the other ran the fuel pump (oil filter location).
