What is this plug in my cylinder head?

I have this plug in one of my heads but the other just has a threaded hole. What is it and do i need it? Thanks.

temp sender... fan switch is on the other side towards the back of the head

The one pictured is the temp sender for the guage, the one he asked about (on the other head) would be the fan switch.

i said that. and yes op you need on your other head if you want your
e-fans to turn on at a certain temperature

I gotcha. Both of my e-fans have switches. I'd imagine coolant passes through here so I'd need to plug it anyway. Thanks guys.
