I bought this car as a project tht didnt run, found out alt was bad and dropped it in and it started up, however the previouse owner had did some wire spliting so i had to buy a new cconnection for it, the car is a 91 and is now carburated, i have a light tht stays on where the automatic trans. shifter is and wont go off plus nothing works on the dash exept the gas tank, cause i can watch tht drop, and idea's?

 

cause doing electrical stuff is all new to me

 

He probably didn't hook up any of the sensors which may be why none of your gauges work. I'd head to Autozone or another autoparts store and get a Haynes or chiltons. I'm not terribly familiar with the "newer" TPI cars to know what all the sensors are but you should be able to get the Oil pressure, tach, speedometer and temp working even without the ECM hooked up.
