Just a few Quick Engine Questions

Hey Guys Got a 305 carb engine in a 82 Z28 that sounds really good just a couple of questions it takes forever to start it the first time after the engine gets nice and warm it starts just fine,(Low compression?) any ideas? The second question, when you put the pedal to the floor the engine sputters and won't rev up. However, if you dont just pound on the gas but take it to floor a little easier, the engine preforms just fine. Thanks in advance for any help you guys are awesome on here.

Re: Just a few Quick Engine Questions

The first problem is probably fuel-delivery-related. Could be a leaky carb. The second problem is easy to figure out IF it's an older, pre-computer distributor. If it is pre-computer, then it's most likely a lack of centrifugal advance. the weights could be stuck.
