Coolant Leak?

alright past week I noticed the coolant lvl going down little by little, I do need a coolant flush seeing that there is rust in the overflow bottle, but I see no noticeable leaks, no smell of coolant... no coolant in oil, no oil in coolant... seems to be burning off or something, was thinking small leak in pump but cannot see visible leakage.... any ideas where to start?

about 32 oz in a week of coolant leakage

Re: Coolant Leak?

Water pump would leak from the bottom - there is a 'weep' hole there, when the pumps start to go out, coolant 'weeps' from that hole - might try letting it run while it's on ramps (get up to temp), and crawl under and look - be careful, you don't want it in your face.

Re: Coolant Leak?

ok, I see no leaky pump from the top or bottom hole or gaskets, I do see a nice wet area in the back of the engine around the distributor area, any thoughts?

Re: Coolant Leak?

I am not familiar with your engine, but if you have engine oil coolant lines running to a sandwhich plate above your oil filter, there is a hard line that carries coolant to the oil filter area. see if this line has rusted through and if there is a pinhole.

Also, you can see some other ideas on a post that I replied to that was posted yesterday or so (also named "coolant leak" I believe.
