87 Iroc Z 350'

My car turns over but it wont start. It will start if i give it full gas. but thats not something i wanna do obviously. I notice when i try to just start it normally (without using gas) there is smoke under the hood. More specifically beside the battery box and radiator. I don't know where its coming from.

This problem just happen all of a sudden. What could be the problem?

Im still learning a lot about the car so please be descriptive on what I have to do to check the car. Thanks a bunch
