White-ish smoke coming from back engine bay

I just recently installed the hedman y-pipe to my hedman shortys, and it goes directly to a muffler dumpoff before the rear axle. After everything was connected, I started the car up and when hitting the throttle, I could see a little white-ish smoke coming from the back of the engine bay. It had a little gas smell to it. What could this be? I checked my oil level just in case and it was all good.

Re: White-ish smoke coming from back engine bay

Did it continue to smoke or smoke a bit and go away. If it smoked a bit and went away it could just have been the coating burning off the new Y pipe.
