If it has "Hecho en Mexico" cast behind the left head, on top of the bellhousing flange, then it's probably a basic "Goodwrench" 350 that's now on it's second life, as a crappy 355 with cast dished pistons, 76cc heads, tiny cam, and such.

Thanks for the reply!, I put valve cover gaskets on it today and found out the 1986 gaskets did not fit - it has different heads on it i guess, it has the center 4 bolt torx bit style that is used from 87' to 02' wow? wtf? i did not find anything saying "hecho en mexico" but the tag that says remanafactured in mexico is a little aluminum stick tab underneath the head on cylinder # 1 on the driver side- wierd. it also has the cap for a mechanichal fuel pump on the standard passanger side, is that normal? I lived in salt lake for years- in kearns actually, i seen your in logan, whatsssup lol. thanks for any info. . .

I only moved here relatively recently, and I'm too old for whazzup, but hi anyway.
Seems it's a complete mystery about your engine, so still assume dished cast pistons, and weak rod bolts, so assume a 5500 rpm redline, but pop a valve cover and get us a casting number for the heads.
