Machine Work ?
i had the machine work done on my block and my step dad was taking a look at what was done and he thinks the shop didnt clean things up like they should have.
you can see in the pics that there are darker stripes. they feel smooth.

looks like they cleaned and worked them to me.
I'm sure they just de-glazed the journals. To keep them the same. Instead of new fitment measures/resizing.
The bearing shells don't actually move in there once installed so I wouldn't worry about it personally as long as I had no issues with the bearing fitment.
I did not notice if mines were done that way or not but I could tell they had been de-glazed at least. I had no issue with bearing fitment either.
