Re: A/c Compressor help
@dan, hi thanks for your advice.I kinda wonder also if that is the case.but for some reason when i got this car,the last owner dont want the a/c...now the belt that is has right now is just an exact fit without getting routed to the compressor.so i figure that the compressor should have its separate belt...do i have to buy a new belt thats longer to fit it?can you provide me a diagram what should it be so i have a clue?pls let me know.thank you very much for your help

Re: A/c Compressor help
I have the same problem, when the engine in my 84 T/A was swapped out they didn't reinstall the AC system, so the compressor is long gone. Since you're using the old v-belt/drivebelt setup from before they added serpentine belts, then a smaller belt will be used along with the larger one that goes to your water pump, crank, and alternator. At least, that's how mine is. My car has 2 belts at the moment, one for the power-steering by itself to the crank, then the water,Alt, crank is a different v-belt.
Hope these responses helped any.
EDIT: The only difference with mine is I have an electric fan, so my v-belt setup may be different from yours. Just a forewarning.

Re: A/c Compressor help
Its an old thread but will take a shot and describe my situation. I got another 82 T/A. I got a ac compressor harrison unit but not 113119 which went with LU5 put another one with id 1131198.
I had seen this part no to 82 corvettes and 82 firebird S/E.
Is there any other difference between these 2 models?
