Re: losing oil pressure

You can pull the oil pan and check the pickup and the pump for wear and the before you start tearing it down. Are you relying on the gauges to see what pressure is? If so, try using a oil pressure tester plugged into the sender for a more accurate reading. If none of this helps it might be time for a teardown, inspection, cleaning, and rebuild.

Re: losing oil pressure

well i pulled the oil pan. and my pick up was just clogged with god knows what and on the pan right under was more peices of i dont konw. wasnt metal, but i got that cleaned out a new pump and pick up. im worried that watever that stuff was if any of it is in the motor plugging it up. im hoping what was happening was all the piece would slowing collect on the pick up screen and block if off, it would explain why i would slowing start losing oil pressure after about 10 mins. slowing fall off..right?? just a last option before i have to rebuild it all.
