another ignition key buzzer question

What triggers the key buzzer noise you're supposed to get when you turn the key to the on position? My first thought was oil pressure, but I've got the sensor plugged in and thats not it..

I've finally got the car back together to a point where it should run, but the key buzzer noise is noticeably missing. I'm thinking I missed plugging in a connector somewhere.

Re: another ignition key buzzer question

Interior light come on when you open the door? I thought they were a part of the door opening in some respect.

Also, if I remember right, the buzzer goes off anytime the key is in the ignition - like a warning that you left your keys in the car - but that may only have been when the door is opened as well.

FYI the door jamb switches make a ground connection when the door is opened.

Sorry I don't remember better - Ive taken my buzzer module out as it drives me crazy - it's under driver dash, about the size of a pack of cigareetes, just plugs in.

Supposed to come on when the key is off, and the headlights are on, also when the key is on, and the door is open. I think thats it, though.

Yeah, if they aren't hooked up, maybe that will cause it not to buzz.

Let us know

Re: another ignition key buzzer question

Found my answer this weekend. I was looking in a box of parts from under the dash that I removed and saw a little black box that looked like it had a small speaker in it. Found out where it was supposed to go in the service manual, plugged it in and now the key buzzer is back.
