Help/opinion on reading plugs..pics inside.

Car: 1989 Formula,1991 z28
Engine: 400 Vortec Hsr,496bbc
Transmission: TKO600,TH400
Axle/Gears: 9"4.10, 9"3.73
Help/opinion on reading plugs..pics inside.
These plugs have 400 miles on them, on the new HSR setup..the black spot on the porcelan kinda worries me? ive never seen a plug burn like that.

In my opinion that could be a carbon spot bouncing off the head. It just could the way the plug is firing. How are the others? Try changing the plug and see if it happens again. That might also be the side of the exhaust valve on that side of the plug.

I wouldn't worry then, In the snowmobile world we would index the plugs to the intake side for a better ignition. Indexing plugs in our cars would be a real pain. I'm sure it's the burnt exhaust on the exhaust valve side of the plug.
