Need some advise here guys!!

I have a 88 IROC and about ready to start this bad boy back up. My question is that when me and my buddy put the rockers on we adjusted them just as the repair manual stated and everything looked great. Then two days later I had to rotate the crank to set it back to TDC. After that I went to put the valve covers on so that I could keep any dust and dirt off when I noticed that one of the rockers had moved off the top of the valve. I purchased self aligning rockers and I am wondering if there is something wrong here? Should I be worried? My buddy says that once we prime the oil pump and there is some pressure there that the rockers will be fine. I'm very concerned because I don't want to get ready to start the engine and the rocker moves over and causes problems. Someone please advise me what you have run into. Here is my setup.....

350 cid
AFR heads
crane roller rocker (self aligning)

I guess thats the important stuff you need to know. If you need more info on whats in the car let me know and I'll post it.

Start early on a Saturday morning. Do the rocker adjustment, priming, and first start all by noon. Then keep a close ear during the first 15 minutes. Shut it off, check the rocker before the oil change.
I'm wondering what's up with that lifter, but anything serious would've been readily apparent when dropping in the pushrods.
