ZZ4 Oil Pump Question
I just picked up a used ZZ4 short block. It was missing the windage tray and oil pump. The GM oil pump that came with the motor part # 93442037 is close to $100. Would I be okay running a Melling or even a Jegs/Summit brand Pump. I was looking at the Melling M55, but Iv'e read that there has been some problems with the hosing cracking and the pumps locking up. Also what is this talk about de-burring and checking the pump for clearance?

Re: ZZ4 Oil Pump Question
The M55 with an IS-55 shaft, 55-S1 pickup and the Mr. Gasket 26 relief spring would do fine.
