Ok so i want to free up some space under my hood. I dont know what the air system is or much about the EGR system. But can i trash it and how do i go about doing it?
Also is the hard lines going into my exhast mani's part of the AIR system? Can i just unplug those 2 boxes on the passinger side and yank it all out?
I need to put plugs and wires in and all those hard lines really look like they are going to be a pita to mess with.

They are, and that is usually the only reason to get rid of them. Its going to have virtually no effect on anything else. The EGR is completely out of anyones way or even view for that matter and there is no reason to even get involved with messing with it.Originally Posted by sho_shane

The air system pumps fresh air into your exhaust manifolds to provide oxygen to the catalytic converter so that it will burn off the emissions properly. The EGR heats up the air/fuel mixture mostly for emissions purposes but it also helps the engine get up to operating temperature quicker. Removing the air system may affect the reading at the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter performance. Hope that helps a bit.
Ok i pulled the AIR system off but im leaving the EGR system alone. I really need to know what belt i need to run to pull the air pump off the car? Is there a dummy pullie or what do i do?

You don't need a delete pulley on a serp car ---> https://www.thirdgen.org/serpentine
