finally after 1 year of my 87 iroc being down i got it running today. i got help from some guys on here about how to set my timing and it worked perfect now when i got the car running white smoke started coming out of the exhaust but it wasnt alot its kinda like when its really cold out and smoke comes out of your exhaust i was wondering if its normal or not the car sat for a year and i put a newer motor in her. any help would be great. also i got a new battery and i keep starting it all day and the battery died and i put jumper cables on it and the ground wire start smoking kind of and started to melt dont kno what that could be.

 

prob jumping it too much an over heating battery.. why isnt it charging itself?? an if white so called smoke keeps up, then u have blow head gasket

 

Clean the terminals. Were they corroded from the old battery sitting so long? Also clean the tip the cable
