First start up questions. Build 355.
1977 4 bolt main block brand new crank, rods, pistons. All new bearings . Vortec heads + comp cams retro kit (hydraulic roller setup).
The oil pump was primed and when I started the engine it showed no oil pressure at all so I turned it of after 30 seconds. I checked it with mechanical oil pressure gauge, same thing-no oil pressure. When I prime the pump the oil comes out from the back oil galley where oil pressure sensor was located, but its just comes out with no pressure.
I used Comp Cams brake in oil 10w-30. Oil pump was stock pressure/volume.
Short block was build by professional speed shop I assembled the rest. Is there anything that I would messed up that would give those symptoms?

Could be a galley plug that was left out, or cam bearing that was improperly installed.

Gallery plug under the rear main is often missed.

The plug under the rear main will bypass the oil filter, but why would it cause a loss of pressure?
