Cause for bad exhaust guides?

What would cause only the exhaust guides be completely ovalled out after 8000 miles? They are bronze guides on summit heads(supposedly brodix design) I thought valvetrain geometry may be wrong, but if thats so, why aren't the intake guides wore down as well. I replaced the heads earlier and dont want to damage the new ones I curently have. Its just baffling to me.
