best fuel pressure for my setup

i have a l98 with almost full bolt ons, ive got an afpr (kirban) with an autometer fuel pressure guage. im wondering what some of the members are running there cars at for pressure. At the moment im running at 40psi and with the vacuum disconected seems to be around 45. Is this high enough. i have a hsr with 22lb injectors also thinking about looking at my timing which should be at 6deg, thinking about moving it up to 8-10deg. what do you guys think

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: best fuel pressure for my setup

Whatever makes it run the best.

Adjust it. Doesn't matter which way; just adjust it. Better/worse?

Better: adjust it some more the same way.
Worse: adjust it back, and then a little bit farther.

Better/worse?

Better: more.
Worse: back plus a little.

Repeat until no further improvement is obtained (any adjustment makes it worse).

Same for the timing. If you change either the FP or the timing ALOT to get to the "best", go back and re-check the other.

Not hard to figure this stuff out, really. It's just a car. Trust me, you can do this.

Re: best fuel pressure for my setup

ok ive been playing with my fuel pressure today ive put it to 43.5 at idle. i have no problem adjusting the above but ive never used a timing light? wheres the best place to learn. ive adjusted the timing without a light on old cars. Also im a little conserned about having feed back as far as a/f ratio. i Is it common to just adjust the following with out using a dyno just seat of the pants?
