soaking lifter ?

i read i should soak lifters in oil for 12hrs prior to install. So i did. Problem is i forgot to take them out seeing plans got backed up before assembling my motor. They have kinda been soaking for a month . Would that matter or am i going to be ordering new lifters?

Re: soaking lifter ?

They will be just fine. The reason you soak the lifters is to prime them with oil. Soaking allows the air to slowly release from the lifter. The added time doesn't hurt at all.

Re: soaking lifter ?

Hopefully they're going to be soaking in oil for years inside the engine.

Re: soaking lifter ?

Doesnt matter really but you didnt have to soak them anyway. Just put some oil on the rollers and into the bearings to loosen them up, and lube the lifter bores/outside body of the lifter and install them. Dont need to be soaked in oil.
