Re: i need help with my block

Re-read what you wrote. Numbers seem to be backwards. "i only see 14010207 why is it missing the 14".

How can you see it then say it's missing?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: i need help with my block

Either would be fine; nothing special about either one, either good or bad. Both are just ordinary typical blocks from their time periods. The 207 is newer though, it's from the early 80s like 81 or 2 up to 85 and so wouldn't have any chance of having the crappy 70s quality control issues that plagued motors all through that time frame. So if all else was equal, I'd probably prefer that one. It'll also have the dipstick on the pass side and the newer style of the 2-pc rear main seal oil pans.
