New engine causing possible trany problems

I have an '82 Camaro Berlinetta, about 3 months ago I replaced the 305 with a 350. Ever since i got the new engine, i get this awful grinding noise during harder acceleration. I took it to a local trany shop and they looked it over, said it was a bearing problem. I spent $850 for a new axle saving bearing and at first the problem is solved but recently its started up again. some people have said that with the new bigger engine its contorting the drive train and causing it to grind the bottom of the vehicle. has anyone had a problem like this before? or at least have an idea of what it could be?

Re: New engine causing possible trany problems

your tranny is probably not used to the higher engine power. and it might get damaged.
