hey guys whats happenin? i was wondering with all your infinite wisdom if anyone knew the difference between an 87-95 sbc and 96-00 sbc?

So long as you are not talking about LSX engines physically nothing.

Vortec engines have a different intake port shape and intake manifold with only 8 bolts but the Vortec top end will bolt on to reg SBC blocks

LT1/LT4 blocks are physically identical to GEN I SBC's but have different heads and coolant passages in the block,
LTX internals fit reg SBC but bolt on parts don't. Have dist at front and use a unique water pump.
