tried it a few more times and then it started right up no dragging or slow.

today it has started fine every time, whats wrong ?

Re: start problem

sounds like a bad ground, or your solenoid going out

Re: start problem

is it possible that the battery is going bad causing this ?

how can i test to see if the starter solenoid is the fault?

it has been starting fine now for the last several days but I don't trust it.

Re: start problem

I had the same experience with my work truck, an F-250. Turns out after about 2 weeks the battery just gave. It had a bad cell in it. Take it to an auto parts store and they will check it for free.

Re: start problem

took it back to the store where i bought it and it checked bad and they replaced it free .

but today it did it again, i'm going to have the alrenator checked to make sure the battery isn't running down but i'm thinking starter time again, just changed it like two years ago maybe early last year.
gotta look for the reciept.

I changed out the starter for a new one but the old one checked out good too but i think it was a intermitent problem and would have eventualy went out totally.
