does heat require ac

I have been rebuilding my sbc and I am about to put the engine in. I don't care about air condiotoiing but need the heat for the winter. Is there away that I can just get rid of the ac box. I currently just have the water pump, alternator, and crank pulley hooked up. I kind of like the old school look.

Re: does heat require ac

you can have heat without ac, just pick up a non-ac box and blower motor. heat will still work the same as before. doing this myself to gain some more room under the hood and clean things up a bit

most ppl get the idea that "defrost" requires the a/c... your defroster will still function with out the a/c... a/c just removes the moister from the vehicle is why your car uses it with defrost

Re: does heat require ac

if i understand right the heat just cycles the a/c in defrost to keep the pump moving during the winter so it doesn't seize.
