91rs only starts when cold then dies. HELP!!!

I was driving the car and all of a sudden it shuts down on me. wait 30 minutes and it turns on and I drive it home. Now the problem is getting worse, I have to play with it on a cold start to get it to start.when i do get it started I have to keep my foot on the gas for a minute or two before it runs steady. What i noticed is that the fan doesn't come on and the engine starts smoking which I think is oil burning after its warmed up then it shuts down and just cranks over til its cold. Again the problem is getting worse. So far I've checked ICM, fuel pressure, replaced egr and the map. Next guess TPS, fuel Injector and ecm. Any ideas please help me.

Re: 91rs only starts when cold then dies. HELP!!!

You're gonna find this throughout the forum, and I just went through it. EXACTLY as you describe. My Red Dragon left my wife and I abandoned after taking her out to lunch, requiring a tow home. A couple days later, it only got me a couple blocks before dying. Bottom line, check the Fuel Injector resistance. If you have less than 12 ohms, it's bad and just one bad one will kill the whole side, so check them all. Additionally, they will have varying resistance when cold vs hot, so check them cold, then start her up, let her get warm (she'll probably die on you again) and check them again. I will almost guarantee that's what it is if you already checked the fuel pressure. Don't just replace one when you're in there; do them all even if some check good, so you have a matched set.
