Leaking coolant out of the block
There has been an ongoing coolant leak in my car for months now. It only leaks when it's cold and sits overnight, never while I'm driving or parking for only a short period of time. We've replaced a ton of hoses, the water pump, intake manifold gaskets and it was still leaking. Lately I've been getting up to find 2 or 3 50 cent piece sizes of coolant on the floor.
So today my dad and I get under the car and look around for a bit. We notice there is coolant on the oil pan, but there is nothing around it. Then my dad wipes off a spot on the block right above the oil pan maybe an inch up and notices it gets wet again almost instantly. After a few more times of wiping and watching, it looks as though the actual block itself is leaking.

Now, is there anything I can do without buying a new motor to fix this? I'm only 18 with about $1500 and no job because I'm focusing on school at the moment so fixing this block would be nicer then getting a new motor. My dad and grandpa are thinking of cleaning it off, releasing the coolant pressure and putting some jbweld on it. That may fix that leak but would that lead to more problems down the road?

You're sure it's not a freeze plug in the side of the block?

No it's on the actual metal surface of the block itself. There is no actual crack that we can see, but if you wipe it off it doesn't get wet again instantly.

The problem with just covering a crack up is that it will continue to grow underneath.

Well how long would it last? As long as it lasts another couple of years that's fine

Somewhere between a few minutes and a few hundred years.
