To delete or not to delete? Help!

I'm getting that nagging code 32 ( EGR ) I have read alot here about the EGR, many informative posts and lots of opinions. My 90' GTA idles rough ( SES on) The EGR valve is relativley new. I don't see any issues with vacuum hoses.
I can get on it hard for a bit and the Light will go off and the idle is smooth. But if i sit too long the light will come back on and begins to idle rough again or if i shut it down and restart the light will come back on and idle will be rough again. I can check the EGR Solenoid and valve again, or i can just burn a chip and delete it.
I have no air, ( Headers, a/c and smog delete pulleys ) o2 sensor is new but is not the heated type, and not sure what role that could play in the problem.

Any suggestions, opinions ( I like those ) would be greatly appreciated.
I don't mind keeping the EGR if i could get it all ironed out!

Thanks!

You can burn a chip and delete it, but you shouldnt have that problem from an egr. i know alot of people just make a block off plate for them and it works fine

The reason i was thinking the EGR was causing the rough idle problem on and off, is because the ses being on and the code 32.
Anyone have any ideas. What to check? I did find a split wire boot, going to replace wires, that would cause a possible missfire though right?

a split boot can and most usually does cause a missfire, even low grade wires can cause it
