A loud thud when stopped recently.
For about the last 2 weeks now, about once every 2 days I'll pull up to a stop light and stop. As I'm sitting there, I hear a loud "THUD" that sounds like it might be coming from the rear end. However, nothing happens. I don't move at all, my car continues to run as usual, and the break work fine. I'm wondering if it's maybe the motor doing something since recently we have found a crack in the engine block where coolant is leaking out of it.

When was the last time that you changed your diff fluid???
The noise that you are hearing is the clutch cones releasing from torque lock.........change your diff fluid, and it should go away!!
Don't forget to add the posi-lube additive, this will help to prevent this from happening again!!

P.S. How do I know this??? It's happened to me!!
The additive helps to remove "varnish" that starts to stick the cones together from heat soak when your at a stop, when the cones release the torque lock, that's the thud that you hear!!

One more question, do I still want to add the posi-lube even if I only have the stock limited slip rear end?
