1986 350 Carb
Ok so I'm finally nearing the end of my swap. Well it's swapped just not running. -Brand new Goodwrench crate-
I'm probably going to just put it in the shop for the rest but heres my question.
So I cranked it over the other day without plugs to get oil pressure. Now today I did the same thing then tried to get it in TDC. But when I crank nothing, it tries but no combustion as far as I can tell.
Last my certainly not least; I forget when it started but its making this god awful loud noise when I try to crank it. I'm thinking the oil pump may be dry and that's what I'm hearing? Yesterday when I cranked for oil pressure I would get it up to 20psi but stopped cranking. It then proceeded back to 0 but as far as I remember that's normal. Only did that 2 times that day.
Doesn't sound like grinding but it has a rhythmic sound to it. My only guess is oil pump isn't primed completely? Maybe I wasn't cranking enough I dunno. Again I didn't try cranking it over very much. Most of it came from trying to find top dead center without the plugs.
I hear the regular crank noise but this noise drowns it out so...XD
Thanks
