Ignition module going bad?
Ok, I am pretty sure it is my ignition module, but here is a little background and what it is doing. This is a 83 CFI camaro with a 350.
-A week ago I caught my engine on fire and mainly burnt everything on the back of the motor. I replaced many wires, pigtails, and both harnesses coming out of the cc distributor, new wires, coil, cap, vaccum lines, vaccum caps, and an oil pressure sensor/switch.
-Now when it runs the engine skips like it is cutting out everyonce in a while (10 sec or so) and is most noticible at idle. When I first got it running it would only do it once in a while, but now it is all the time. When the engine skips, the tach drops to zero then flutters really fast and settles back out. Only lasts like a half second. It does cause it to kill the motor when bringing it out of 1st sometimes so I am assuming I am losing my spark.
-Since the fire was concentrated on drivers side of the distributor, I think the heat might have fried the ignition module as well.
-Just doing a fact check before I put a GM module in it. I got one out of a 305 cc carb car with the cc distributor in it, that should work right?
