Cam info
I am putting an engine together for an 86 Camaro, and I really need advice for a cam. I'm building a 350. Its 060 over. Flat top pistons w/4 valve notches. Pro comp alum. heads. Valves are 2.02, and 1.60. Carb is a edelbrock 650 sitting on a weiand stealth intake. I currently have a comp cam. It's 470 lift and 270 duration(224 @.050 lift) and 110 lobe separation. Some people are telling me I need to go bigger on the cam. Any ideas, or suggestion? Thanks guys.

Re: Cam info
Depends on what you want out of the car.
Sounds similar to an Isky 270 megacam which is old school but works real well on the street with the typical mild 350 build. It will have just a little rump to it have good vacuum for brakes and pull hard for you. Always liked the way Iskys ran
What size heads?

Re: Cam info
I'm looking for "off the line". I put in a turbo 350 and a posi 3.73 Heads are 190. The way it is now, it stumbles off the line. Like it doesn't want to take the gas. A buddy says maybe around 236 @ .050. and 520-530. To big? My springs will go to 550.

Re: Cam info
Sounds like tuning rather than the cam. Get it running good with whats in it now. That other cam will want more converter cam and gear. The 270 is a great all aroudn street cam.
Get your timing curve nailed down first then go after the fuel
Most those edelbrocks are calibrated for a stock motor so you may need a stronger initial shot from the carb could be a touch lean.
As far as off the line power with what you have the larger cam will not get you what you want.
