Just curious

1984 Camaro H.O. Z28

Planning on boring my 305 in spring and I was just curious on how much hp gain I can get with boring the heads .030?

Also if anyone with rebuilt 305 could post any pictures.
Thanks

Re: Just curious

Re-boring isnt done to gain power, its done to clean up worn cylinders during a rebuild. You'd only gain about 5 inches. About 1.6%. And it'll cost about $200 plus the cost of cleaning the block after.

Yea, I know its done to repair warn cylinders, but I figured maybe there would be a gain of 10hp or something. Im not trying to get more power so that doesnt worry me. Just want to give new life to the original 305
