Crane Cams powermax 109821, is it a good cam?

Hows it going? When I bought my GTA in '07, the PO gave me the receipt and spec sheet of the cam the car had in it. I ended up losing it and just the other day found it (thought I had lost it for good). Anyway, its a Crane Cams Powermax 109821 and the lift is .488"/.509", Duration is 276º
intake/284º exhaust. Would this be considered a mild cam? Anyone else running it? I'd just like to know if its a good cam overall. Thanks in advance.

It is a mild cam. You can see the specs at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRN-109821/

Whether it's a "good" cam really depends on what you're wanting out of your motor. I'm not a cam guru but, overall, I would say its a decent cam for a near-stock L98.

Hope this helps.

Cool thanks for the input formula_novice. I figured it was a mild cam since it hardly has a lopey idle. As far as what I would want out of my motor, I'm shooting for about 400+ HP (450 HP tops). I'm pretty sure I'd have to step up to a beefier cam as well as other supporting mods. The fact that it has less than 1k miles allows me plenty of 'time' to achieve this.

Its a good mild moderate street cam. A step up for a TPI motor.
A good choice for what you have. If you want 450+ hp supercharge it.

Good info F-BIRD'88 thanks. I have put some thought into what type of forced induction I'd like on my car. A twin turbo install was in my future plans but if a supercharger will get me to that range of HP then I'd rather go with that. You can't go wrong with the sweet sound of a supercharger screaming down the street when you mash the gas; well for me anyway. I do plan on throwing on some AFR 195's and some other mods as well. Thanks for the info man.
