Looking for some eng.building ideas
Long time SBC builder but not for a few years. Looking for some ideas. Feel this is the site to get it.
Have 62 ****** 4x4 wagon with late 80's 350 GM crate motor with about 50,000 mile on it and going to rebuild.
Would like to get close to 400 hp. Have a set of 87 Vette aluminum head with 194 valves. and 88 TPI. Going to stay with the stock runners for the torque I think. This will bolt to a 700r to 411 gears on 33 inche tires. Any and all ideas welcome. THX

id go with a 383 if youve got the 350 block, although im sure you could acheive the 400hp from the 350 block, i dont understand what your asking here? if you want to keep that current block or get a new one..?

Going to be tough, without more info assume that is a low compression crate motor, heads unfortunately arent condusive to making power.
Being as its a TPI just build it for torque youll be a lot happier especially in a vehicle that will want it. Stroke that sucker!

Looking to keep 350 block and go .030 over. 9.5 comp. Looking for ideas on pistons, cam, valve springs, quinch etc. Planning on roller rockers. and a gear drive timing set. Ideas on injector size.
