Although you're limited in the lift with the stock Vortecs, there are several cam lobe profiles with lifts less than .480" yet have fairly healthy duration figures.
Download a copy of Comp Cams Master Lobe Profile catalouge. You can see what's out there.
Remember to match the cam duration values with the engines SCR to get the best results.

The 91 block so a roller?
Yes you're limited to about 480 lift, and around there you'll want to carefully measure every valve. Biggest cam I could use with mine was about 470 and that was with half the recommended safety margin.
Vortecs like a split with more timing for exhaust than intake.
I'm looking through the comp cams camquest program, and it seems like all the cams that would even work are in their xtreme 4x4 series.
The only xtreme energy one that could fit your 480 limit is the smallest one, with an rpm range of only 600-4600 and only 200 duration. No lope there.
Theres a 4x4 one with 210/214 .50 duration, one with 220/224, and one with 230/234, all with .474 lift which should be safe. I'm kind of guessing they're made with vortecs in mind with the lifts being like that.
