which torque converter w/ this cam

i got a 91 camaro 3.1 that i'm doing an engine swap in. i recently purchased a 350 w/ comp cams thumpr. it will be carbd (holley 750) w/ out a computer. i have a 700r4 out of a 91 z28 w/ stock converter. the cam is:

http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...?csid=107&sb=2

it says "stock converter ok, best with 2000+ converter".

i'm wondering if it would be worth buying a different converter or if it would be fine to just use the stock converter.

just like it says you should be okay with the stock converter. If your looking for more off the line then upgrade the converter. Its up to you if you want to spend the extra cash or if you plan on more upgrades later Id get the converter but thats just my opinon.

Re: which torque converter w/ this cam

i was doing some searches on here and read about using a torque converter from a 96+ s10 4.3. i read that it will stall around 2000-2300. i can get a new one for around $120. would this be an ok converter to use?

Id go 2400 or so right off the bat. If the converter is easy to get at right now definitely do whatever you can to get one in now, a stock converter may drag the engine down some at idle and wont jump quite as hard when you get on it unless you raise the stall some. 2200 will feel about stock but may work ok.

Have heard the s-10 converters are good but have no experience with them
