engine temp sensor questions

hey guy, gauge isnt working so i found a sensor, driver side on the 305tpi engine, up front in the middle of the front 2 spark plugs, which i believe is the temp sender, however the one in there doesnt have the 1 pin male end like the new one does. i cant visually see it, but seems to be more of a circle end with no where for the plug in. that the right one?

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: engine temp sensor questions

Those are a sort of "mushroom" connector, that goes on from the side. Your car's wiring should have the right plug for it (did at one time).

ya it has a mushroom, but the adapter is a 1 pin, as well as the new sensor
