Problems starting
I own an 1989 IROC and it was starting and running great. Now, i have a problem with it. it cranks right up and runs really good. when i turn it off, it doesn't crank up. i have to wait about 15-20mins before it cranks up. has anyone ever ran into this problem? i've changed the maf, tps sensor, the oil, fuel filter and water pump. i don't have any idea what the problem is. has anyone encountered this problem before?

do you have a stock or aftermarket fuel pump if so the pump may be over heating and not pumping like it should. i ran into this problem 2 weeks ago so i feel your pain lol

Re: Problems starting
Might have ignition module tested - it's inside distributor under the rotor. Heat makes them go bad, maybe after your car is getting warm the heat buildup is making it cranky. When mine went, it started kinda like that. Then it started running rough and dying after about 30 minutes of driving - over time it would do this more and more until it just finally got to the point that anytime the car temp got above 180 it would die.
Make sure to use the dielectric grease that comes with it according to the instructions - there is a plate that gets greased to keep moisture off - moisture makes rust, rust makes resistance, resistance builds up heat, ...
*edit Most auto parts store can test, I've never bother as it's only like $35 part

Re: Problems starting
I had the same problem on an HEI distributor. Changed out the ignition module twice, still would not start when It was hot. I was told that the hall effect sensor was bad. Got a junkyard hei from a friend of mine and the problem went away. Not sure this is any help to you with the electronic type.
