87 Iroc speedometer cable

Car: 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z Z28
Engine: 305 FI
Transmission: 5Speed
Axle/Gears: Stock
87 Iroc speedometer cable
i jsut got an 87 iroc 305 5speed and the speedometer wasnt working
i put it on a chassis lift and i saw the speedometer cable and i saw a electric sensor where it was right next to and i dont see anywhere else the cable goes. what should i check first?
if it is an electric vss how cna i change it back?

The wiring you see is for the reverse lights.
