Replacing oil pan help

Just dropped in boat motor small block 350 into my 88 camaro auto trans 700r4 didn't see the oil pan was too big and y pipe wouldn't pull up to bolt up to shorty headers. Want to replace oil easily if i jack up engine do i have to unbolt flex plate and torque converter to slide oil pan off??

No - remove dist cap and rotor. Loosen the rear tranny crossmember bolts from car, with jack under tranny remove those bolts and let tranny down some, you should get enough room to swap out oil pan. Might have to remove two large motor mount bolts as well to allow motor to pivot more on the front tranny mount.

It's more work to replace a pan while it's in the chassis, than to just pull it back out.

Since it's obviously not even "installed" yet, it's DOUBLE eeeeezy to pull it out and do it right.

Pull it back out and do it right. You'll be glad you did.
