K guys, 82 trans am i bought awhile back,
It idles at around 800-900 but will eventually stall if left running. While at idle if i give it gas it hesitates and then will rev.
The REAL PROBLEM is that it blows BLUE smoke, it keeps fouling plugs oily black, and since im running open headers its shooting black muck on my garage floor
had a old 305 in it. I bought a running driving camaro with a good solid 350 700r4 and swapped it in. The motor i swapped in ran PERFECT when i pulled it from the other car no smoke at all. I bought a weiand intake and holley 600 carb with manual choke. msd HEI dizzy.
My initial timing is about spot on, #1 was verified tdc with a coat hanger, and the rotor was pointed right on the 1st plug wire. So it is on time. i have a craftsmen pro timing light but still havnt figured out how to use it as it only flashes white line instead of a solid red line like im used to.
Thanks Joshua,

blue smoke is oil though. just from what you put in the first post, i'd look at the intake gaskets. as for the craftsman timing light i have one too, the only way i can see the mark was to put white out on the tdc hash mark.

Heres what it was, intake gaskets didnt seal, due to the weiand intake i was using is some kind of screwd up. Got a new dual plane intake, she runs great
