Starts cold will not start hot

While driving engine shut off momentarily, ran good for while then it quit. Restarded drove about 1 mile and surged and then quit. did this a couple more times finally it would not start. Checked fuel pressure by loosening fuel line there was good spray. rotor and cap looked good. gat gas on the tank. It will attempt to start just that. Next mornig started right away. It was at fast idle but as soon as i gave it some gas it will quit. It will start imidiatley. Any clues?

Re: Starts cold will not start hot

Maybe the ignition module located inside the distributor under the rotor. Heats kills them since it's an electrical part. They can be tested at local auto parts store, new one like $35. Make sure you use the dielectric grease on the plate - if tests good, grab a $1 pack of dielectric grease to regrease it before install. New unit hould come with grease.

Re: Starts cold will not start hot

A leaking injector can cause warm starting problems as it will flood the engine when sitting. If it sits for a longer time, the fuel seeps past the rings and it will start normally.

Re: Starts cold will not start hot

Did you remove and have that ignition module tested? Most parts stores will test for free, but I've never tested them, I just replace them.
