305 TBI open loop problem
OK...this is my story and I am sticking to it. This problem just started one day. I did notice that my check engine light came on for a few seconds and then shut off. It hasn't come on since, not sure if this is related. I seem to be having a problem during open loop which is the several seconds after starting the car. It appears when the engine is cool or the outside air is cool when I start the car it idles fine and runs fine. But after driving awhile and shutting off the car when it is started back up during the open loop the car runs rich and has no power. But as soon as the closed loop occurs car idles smooth and regains normal power and runs fine until the car is shut off again. There are no problem codes.
These are the things I have allready done but it still occurs. It needed it anyways.
Replaced Thermostat
Replaced CTS
Replaced Plugs
Replaced Plug Wires
Replaced Dist. Cap
Replaced Dist. Rotor
Replaced Fuel Filter
Checked and adjusted timing
Checked Fuel Pressure
Cleaned Injectors and checked fuel spray
I have read alot about the O2 sensor and found that not many if at all that replacing the O2 sensor would fix this problem. If my problem was reversed smooth idle at open loop and then rough at closed loop, then O2 sensor could be the culprit.
I did read somewhere that after replacing most of the ignition parts that the battery should be disconnected to reset the computer and it will rebuild its fuel tables. Not sure what this means but figured I would give it a shot. Since the battery hasn't been disconnected since this problem has occured.
Does anyone have an insight to this problem or maybe a verified solution?
Thanks for any help.

Re: 305 TBI open loop problem
These are the conditions that are really consistant.
Cold engine: Starts fine
open loop - idles fine, accelerates fine
closed loop - idles fine, accelerates fine
Warm engine: Starts fine
open loop - idles rough, no acceleration
closed loop - idles fine, accelerates fine
I am about to pull my hair out on this issue.
