roller or not?
so ive done some searching but not sure..
I got this 350 from a truck that i bought. the truck had this 350 swapped in (factory 305). and i pulled it and threw it in the camaro. the motor i was told was rebuilt and other work.
now i have a stuck lifter etc and have to do some work. I was going to order a cam etc.... buttttt i need to know if its a roller or not. before i put the intake on there was the spider in the center. cast number on heads are typical truck swirl port 350 and block cast is for truck/burban/camaro.
is the spider a sure sign its a roller or is there another way to check without pulling everything apart?
thanks for the help guys

Re: roller or not?
I'm not sure of any other way but a partial disassemble... you can take a valve cover off, remove a rocker/pushrod and attempt to look for some sign of a lifter retainer.
I'm not even sure if you can see the retainer looking through the pushrod hole... only other option is to pull the manifold.

Pull a push rod.
A stock flat-tappet one is about 7.8" long; a roller one is about ½" shorter.
