91 firebird wont start.

I bought a 91 firebird with a 5.0 tbi. It was slightly wrecked just enough to set the airbag off. The problem is now it will not start. The electric fan, lights, and dash lights all come on but the car does not even crank over or click or anything. When I hit the key a light on the dash comes on that reads INFL RESET. Is this the reason it will not start? How is it reset? I was told it was a VATS problem but I believe it's something associated with the airbag deployment. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Re: 91 firebird wont start.

The light reads "INFL REST", not "reset" - in stands for Inflatable Restraint - telling you that the computer registered an issue with the inflatable retsraint system. But it shouldn't affect the operation of the car. If the starter turns, but car doesn't run, could be any number of issues. If the starter does not turn, then I'd look into a VATS issue.

Re: 91 firebird wont start.

Ok your right it reads INFL REST not reset. Possibly the airbag deployment messed up the VATS or just a common thing that malfunctions?
