Hey I just picked up this 1992 Camaro RS cause my last car took a dump, but this ones becoming more of hassle than dealing with my old car. I tried to get it SMOG and it passed everything except one thing which failed me on the test and the guy told me there was a leak somewhere near the fuel tank and the evaporation canister, also quite often when its idling it just dies and I have to put it in park and start it back up, but it starts up fine. Would like some feedback on this issue asap. Its also an extremely bumpy and rocky ride was wondering I could do to fix it.

 

Check visually for leaks first around the fuel tank. There is also a check valve around your tank. Small white checkvalve. All ws6 performance package firebirds and Trans ams have a very rocky, bumpy ride. It is a solid axle. Racing suspension. Not sure if yours is ws6, probably not, you may just need shocks.

 

Is there anyway it might be the fuel pump/fuel filter?
